We will have live music by Jakob Franken, who is joining us all the way from Berlin!

Hi Everyone, I’m Jakob, a blues musician from Berlin, and I’m really excited to be joining you at Cabin Blues in Trondheim!
I have a deep affection for Delta blues and its minimalistic yet intricate style. One of the lessons I’ve taken from it is that you can always play less. You can leave a longer pause. You can let things rest. The silence is just as essential to the blues as the notes you play.
What I especially love about playing for blues dancers is that they know how to use that space. They’re sensitive to the subtle notes, changes, and little details in the music. In my experience, when you give dancers room, they come up with wonderful interpretations that in return give me new ideas and perspectives on the music. So in the best moments, it starts to become more of a conversation than a concert.
I’m going to bring a few of my own songs, which you can find on Spotify and Bandcamp, as well as plenty of old blues tunes for you to dance to.
