To get a spot on one of our teams, you must participate in the tryouts. We host tryouts at the start of the autumn semester. You are offered a spot for the entire season (from the start of September to the start of April). For Cosmos, you only need to commit to one semester at a time, but for Titans, you must commit to the whole season immediately. If we have an opening on either team, we will host additional tryouts in January.
Tryouts is not like typical “auditions” that you see in movies. No one is going to force you to stand alone in front of an audience and do tricks you can’t do.
However, what will happen is that you will be given a name tag on arrival so that the coaches know who you are. In some cases, coaches also take pictures of groups together to remember who worked particularly well together and similar.
During the tryouts, you are encouraged to try to challenge yourself a little. You may be asked to try new things you haven’t done before, but only when the coach has faith that you can do it, and of course you also get help.
Remember that the coaches are looking for the potential in us, they are looking to see what we can do, not what we CANNOT do. And if you miss a lot of things during tryouts, it’s not a crisis either, take it with a positive attitude, it says a lot about you as an athlete.
