How can I join?

Tryouts

To play on one of our teams in the league, you must first participate in tryouts. These are training sessions where the coaches of the different teams have the opportunity to walk around and select players. It starts with the top teams and moves down each day (elite, 1st division, 2a, 2b, etc.). If you are not offered a spot on a team during a session, just come back the next day and try out for the next team.

The tryouts include various drills that allow the coaches to observe different positions and techniques. Before the drills begin, there is a warm-up, usually in pairs with a ball. If you need extra warm-up time, it’s a good idea to arrive early and warm up in the stands or in the weight room.

Packing list:

Optional:

Hobby team

If you didn’t get a spot on a team through tryouts, we still have several ways for you to join the club. We have two hobby teams, one for men and one for women. These teams train once a week and do not participate in league play. This is a great option for those who want to take part in the social side of volleyball but don’t have much experience. If you’re part of a hobby team, you’re a full member of the club and can join our events such as training camps, Christmas parties, social tournaments, etc.

Note! These are sign-up-based teams. A registration link will be published after the final tryout day. Spots fill up quickly, so make sure to act fast! Follow our social media to stay updated on when the form will be released.

Open practice (Mosjon)

Each week we organize a open practice for all SiT members. This is a group session where a member from our club hosts a volleyball practice at Gløshaugen. It’s open to everyone regardless of skill level and is a great way to meet others interested in volleyball. Sessions usually include warm-up, team assignments, and game play.

Note! This is organized in cooperation with the club, but attending these open practices does not make you a member of NTNUI Volleyball.
