Congratulations on securing a study spot in Trondheim, the world’s best student city! As a student in Trondheim, you are among the fortunate few who have the opportunity to join our fantastic club, NTNUI Triathlon & Cycling ❤️.

This group is perfect for those who want to meet new people, challenge themselves to try something new, stay in shape, and of course, have a great time alongside their studies! 🥳

In our triathlon group, we offer various training sessions each week tailored to different levels and ambitions. Whether you want to attend one training session a month or multiple times a week, it’s entirely up to you 😎.

Below is the plan for the start up period!

  • Our training sessions are suitable for all levels; most people who start with us have never done triathlon before!

  • It only cost 100 NOK per semester to be a part of the triathlon group as long as you are a member of NTNUI!
  • You’ll have the chance to participate in a training camp in Orkanger in September 2023 and a trip to Spain in April 2024! ☀️
  • We organize plenty of social events, ranging from celebrating May 17th to bowling, barbecues, and Christmas parties! 🎳
  • Every week, you’ll have the opportunity to join various sessions, including running, cycling, swimming, and other types of training. This means you’ll get the chance to train in diverse ways and challenge yourself to try new things!
  • We have no admission requirements! Everyone is welcome to join us 🙌.
  • NTNUI Triathlon provides plenty of equipment for borrowing. If you want to try road cycling or need a wetsuit, it’s super easy to rent from our website 🚲.
  • In our group, we offer a partner guarantee, assuring you a partner for 12 months. Whether it’s a romantic partner or a workout buddy, or both 😉.

NTNUI triatlon is arranging welcomming-weeks for new members(and old), to give you a good start! Here is the program:

You don’t have to participate in all the training, just come to the ones you want! If you don’t have the opportunity to participate in any of these trainings, you are still welcome to join later in the semester.

Week 36

Monday:

Morning:

What: 30 min easy jog followed by 60 min indoor strength in sports hall 4. Does not require SiT membership.

IMPORTANT: Due to COVID19 we are not allowed to use the wardrobes. You can put your stuff in Hall 4 before the run. If you want to get access to the wardrobes you need to book personal training time at https://www.sit.no/trening/treneselv. Does require SiT membership.

When: 07:55

Where: Reception at SIT Gløshaugen

Evening:

What: Hill intervalls on bike 1x10min + 5x3min + Ferista-Skistua. Remember helmet.

When: 18:00

Where: By the pavilion in Ila Parken

Wednesday:

What: Running intervals. 4-8x1000m 1 min pause.

When: 18:30 or 18:45 already warmed up.

Thursday:

What: Easy run in Estenstadmarka

When: 16:30

Where: Outside SiT Dragvoll.

Followed by Information-meeting 18:30 at Dragvoll – event is on Facebook: “Bli-kjent trening & infomøte”.

Saturday:

What:Bike ride approx. 2 hours.

When:11:00

Where:Ila-Parken.

Sunday:

What: Swimming 1 hour. You can choose to follow a program or swim by your own desires. This training is open for all NTNUI members. Remember a 10NOK coin for the lockers. Due to COVID-19 there is a limit of 30 persons. Use the attached ticket for entrance.

When: Entrance at 08:45. Ready by the pool at 08:55. Start in water 09:00 sharp.

Where: Pirbadet, all 25m lanes.

Information meeting:

Thursday September 9th we are going to have an information meeting with free pizza where you will get some information about the group, trainings etc. Here you can ask all the questions you want! We are starting with a run from the trainingcenter at Dragvoll 16:30, where we are running in Estenstadmarka. Afterwards we are having information meeting and pizza at Dragvoll, you can meet directly to this if you want, the meeting starts at 18:30. More information in an arrangment on Facebook – “Bli-kjent trening & infomøte”. Registrate to the meeting be saying “attending” at the arrangement on Facebook, deadline is 12:00 the same day so we can order enough pizza. If you have any allergies or food preferences send an email to andrea.vanebo@ntnui.no before 12:00.

Get-to-know-eachother-party:

Saturday September 11th we are having a get-to-know-eachother-party for new and old members! The plan is to start the evening with pre-party where we divide in groups, before we all gather at Sukkerhuset! More information in an own arrangement on Facebook – “Bli – kjent fest!”.

Student Championship and TriSprinten in Triathlon 2020

NTNUI invites every “triathlon-crazy” students to our Student Championship in Triathlon!

Summary

What: Student Championship and TriSprinten
Where: Trondheim – Pirbadet/Ilsvika
When: Race brief Friday, september 11. Race day Saturday, september 12.
Entry fee: 200 kr

The Student Championship is a low-key event. Suitable for everyone regardless of experience, level and ambitions. Take the challenge by it’s horns and join the Student Championship!

The Championship Swimming: 400m – Bike: 19km – Run: 4,5km

Swimming: The swim is indoors at Pirbadet and you are swimming in the 50m lanes. There will be 5-6 contenders pr lane and both lanes will be used at the same time. There will be a 25m lane where you can warm up prior to the race. The heats will be put together by expected swimming times where the fastests expected contenders start first. You will enter your expected swimming time after the registration closes.

Bike The Starting order is based on the swimming times where the fastest swimmer start the bike leg. You will ride from Ilsvika to Flakk, and back. The leg is 19km. Take notice that you are racing on open roads, meaning the roads are open for regular traffic. Take notice that we have to classes, one for road bikes/Triathlon bikes/Time trial bikes, and one for others like commute bikes, MTBs etc.. In other words you can just take the bike you use to school, just make sure the brakes works.

Run: After the bike leg you will enter T2, here you’ll leave the bike and directly start the running leg. The run will be two laps and together make 4,5 km.
