Lane Allocation
NTNUI Swimming has 8 lanes, two long course (50m) and six short course (25m) lanes. On Wednesdays and Fridays, we only have four lanes until 21:00, but all eight lanes are available from that time onwards. These lanes are allocated based on speed and motivation to ensure that everyone has a lane that suits them.
The slowest lanes
Lanes 8 and 7 are suitable for those who are new to swimming as a sport or simply want to take it easy and relax in the pool.
Fitness Swimming Lanes
Lanes 6, 5, and 1 are suitable for those who have some swimming experience but may not have participated in competitions. Some of these lanes also follow the swimming programs, but usually shorter than the fastest lanes.
The Fastest Lanes
Lanes 4, 3, and 2 are suitable for former competitive swimmers or those who are still active in competitions. These lanes usually follow the program.
