How do I become a member of NTNUI Swimming?

Instructions can be found under “Join” in the menu above.

How much does it cost to be a member of NTNUI Swimming?

You only need an NTNUI membership and either a license from the Norwegian Swimming Federation (Norges Svømmeforbund) or a training insurance to become a member. Check the prices for the NTNUI membership on ntnui.no, and the swimming license and insurance on our web store. The NSF license is valid for one calendar year and is only needed if you plan to compete.

Is it possible to come and try a training session before joining?

Yes! At the beginning of each semester, we usually have two weeks of trial training sessions that are completely free to participate in. Outside of these weeks, it is also possible, but you need to contact someone from the board first.

What levels are there in the training sessions?

The skill level in NTNUI Swimming varies, and there are several lanes to choose from based on your skills and motivations. Along the edge, there are training programs that you can use for inspiration if you wish. You organize yourself into lanes based on your desire to follow the program, train technique, or just chat with others if you prefer. But everyone must be able to swim 50 meters without assistance or pausing to join.

Do I need to attend all the training sessions?

No, you can attend as often or as rarely as you want. Attendance is voluntary.

How do I check if I have a valid NSF license?

Check medley.no.

I have been a member of another swim club until recently. Do I need to transfer?

You do not need to transfer unless you want to compete for NTNUI.

Can I enter Pirbadet outside of training hours?

No, you can only enter during training hours. If you want to enter outside of training hours, you have to pay the entrance fee. Pirbadet offers a student discount if you want to go in and swim during opening hours.

What equipment do I need to participate in training?

You will need swimwear and any additional equipment you prefer for your swimming training.

Please email svomming-medlem@ntnui.no if you have any further questions.
