KYU\/MON, YELLOW BELT<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 5. Kyu (Yellow Belt): The practitioner must have attended at least 25 training sessions after their last grading.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Familiarity with<\/strong><br>\n&#8211; Mate (Stop)<br>\n&#8211; Hajime (Start)<br>\n&#8211; Osaekomi (Hold is secured)<br>\n&#8211; Ippon (Full point)<br>\n&#8211; Kumikata (Grip technique)<br>\n&#8211; Uchi-komi (Repetitive entry drills without throws)<br>\n&#8211; Kuzushi (Balance breaking)<br>\n&#8211; Yaku-soku-geiko (Agreed practice)<br>\n&#8211; Randori (Free practice)<br>\n&#8211; Shizen-tai (Basic standing posture)<br>\n&#8211; Jigo-tai (Defensive posture)<br>\n&#8211; Rei (Bow)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ukemi (Breakfalls)<\/strong><br>\n&#8211; Ushiro-ukemi (Backwards breakfall)<br>\n&#8211; Yoko-ukemi (Side breakfall)<br>\n&#8211; Mae-mawari-ukemi (Forward rolling breakfall)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ne-waza (Ground Techniques)<\/strong><br>\n<strong>Osaekomi-waza (Hold-down techniques)<\/strong>, all holds must be demonstrated on both the right and left sides:<br>\n&#8211; Kesa-gatame (Scarf hold)<br>\n&#8211; Kata-gatame (Shoulder hold)<br>\n&#8211; Yoko-shiho-gatame (Side four-point hold)<br>\n&#8211; Tate-shiho-gatame (Mounted four-point hold)<br>\n&#8211; Kami-shiho-gatame (Upper four-point hold)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shime-waza (Strangulations) <\/strong><br>\n&#8211; One strangle of choice<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kansetsu-waza (Joint Locks)<\/strong><br>\n&#8211; One joint lock of choice<\/p>\n<p><strong>Go Kyo no Waza (Throwing Techniques), Dai-ikkyo (First Series)<\/strong><br>\nAll techniques must be demonstrated on both the right and left sides:<br>\n&#8211; De-ashi-harai (Advancing foot sweep)<br>\n&#8211; Hiza-guruma (Knee wheel)<br>\n&#8211; Sasae-tsurikomi-ashi (Supporting foot lift-pull throw)<br>\n&#8211; Uki-goshi (Floating hip throw)<br>\n&#8211; O-soto-gari (Major outer reaping throw)<br>\n&#8211; O-goshi (Major hip throw)<br>\n&#8211; O-uchi-gari (Major inner reaping throw)<br>\n&#8211; Seoi-nage (Shoulder throw)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Movement Tasks<\/strong><br>\n&#8211; Four throws must be performed in motion using movement patterns described in &#8220;Kodokan Judo&#8221; by Jigoro Kano.<br>\n&#8211; One transition from tachi-waza (standing techniques) to ne-waza (ground techniques).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Goals<\/strong><br>\n&#8211; Introduce the practitioner to the dynamic principles of judo.<br>\n&#8211; It is important to learn proper breakfalls.<br>\n&#8211; Throws must be executed with good control over one\u2019s own balance.<br>\n&#8211; The practitioner should understand that they are responsible for their partner\u2019s safety and well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/o9Y1aDpdL_Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>5.
