SAFETY RULES FOR SCUBADIVING<\/b><\/span><\/h1>\n

These rules apply for all divers diving with NTNUI-Dykkergruppa, they also apply for members borrowing equipment from DG.<\/b><\/p>\n

  1. All divers diving with DG are obliged to have:<\/span>\n
      \n
    • An internationally recognized diving certificate<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Received an introduction in the usage of DGs safety equipment<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Adequate knowledge\/training on the equipment being rented<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Accepted the \u00abSelf-declaration of compliance with DGs safety rules, and the rules for the usage and maintenance of rental equipment\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Never dive alone, in DG we dive with a buddy.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Check that your rental equipment is whole and functional before diving. Renting equipment is at the user\u2019s own risk. DG ensures that the valves are serviced every year and that the bottles are pressure-tested every other year. It is the user\u2019s responsibility to maintain their gear after the dive. *<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Always bring safety equipment:<\/span>\n
        \n
      • Emergency case<\/span> (Containing oxygen, Cracker shells and first aid kit)<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Dive leader case<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Diving flag<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Life line (Throwing rope)<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Rescue swimmer (Recommended with big groups)<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Surface-crew \/ Dive leader<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • A dive-leader shall be appointed for all dives and should be competent within the diving that is being done. The dive-leader should have CMAS P3, Padi Rescue or CMAS P2 certification and preferably a dive-leader course. (Or equivalent certification from another organization) If no one of these qualifications are present, the most experienced diver should be appointed to lead the dive.\u00a0<\/span>\n
          \n
        • The dive-leader is supreme in his\/her decisions.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • The dive-leader whether the conditions at the dive site is satisfactory, that the planned dive is reasonable and is in accordance with the safety rules. Remember to check the conditions for telephone\/VHF connectivity.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Plan the dive with your buddy and dive-leader in advance, the divers should accommodate the difficulty and depth of the dive according to certification and experience. <\/span>Remember the buddy check.<\/b>\n

          • \n
              \n
            • Agree on dive-time, depth, gas-mix and direction, both with buddy and dive-leader.<\/span><\/li>\n
            • The maximum allowed diving depth with air is 39 meters<\/span><\/li>\n
            • End the dive in such a way that you have a minimum of 50 bar left on your bottle at the dives end.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
            • No dives demanding decompression shall be planned on DG arranged dives.<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Keep in touch with your buddy throughout the dive. If you lose each other, look around you for 1 minute before acceding to the surface at a safe pace.<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Do not hesitate to drop your lead-weights if necessary, this is covered by the NDF Lead-fund. (Whoever drops the lead must apply for a refund themselves)<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Do not dive if you are feeling unwell, insecure or affected by medicines\/alcohol. It is not embarrassing to pass\/abort a dive.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              The board and the dive-leader have the power to refuse persons to dive with DG, if they are believed to pose a safety risk to themselves or others. The board and dive-leader also have the right to check whether the divers diving with DG has the proper certificates and are complying with the security regulations. In cases of violations of the rules, consequences such as a general diving ban occur.<\/span><\/p>\n
